Clutch tears it up yet again
An amazing set list tonight from System Of a Clown - System Of a Down Tribute, a fine mix of classics and new songs. The Newport, as always, was an excellent venue and packed! Danko Jones, I was not expecting much from, but surprisingly, their live act was great. The first opening act, Caverns, managed somehow to make loud and fast music boring - unimpressive. The crowd was getting a little restless towards the end of Danko's set, but overall seemed to get a good reception from the audience.
Clutch is an act that must be seen live to fully appreciate. The energy of the band cannot be conveyed through recording, studio or otherwise. I was blown away by Neil, Tim, JP, and Dan turning it out night after night and seeming to love every minute of it. These guys are machines. It still blows my mind that 20 bucks were well spent.
